Jamil Jackson is a force in sketch comedy, An Alum of the Sketch Writing Program from The Pack Theater, Jamil has also trained at UCB and has spent countless hours at various theaters around LA, He’s a Top rated performer and writer. A Visionary Showrunner who created Blackverse, a live sci-fi sketch show that fuses the black experience, American culture, raw imagination, and current events. BLACKVERSE was considered “The future of sketch” and one of the best shows at the Pack Theater during its run.
Over several decades of industry experience, Jamil has performed everywhere from The Comedy Store on Sunset to the Second City Diversity Fest to the Leimart Park Festival to the Annual Compton Christmas Show, now new in town and around Minneapolis. Jamil brings jokes everywhere from anime, to arcade aesthetics, he can turn real-life grit into sharp, unforgettable comedy. He’s led various writers’ rooms, one more recently at Team Inviz a company owned by Michael Bay which produced content for several prominent social media influencers.
Known for his mix of precision and heart, Jamil builds spaces where new voices grow fast and funny. If you’ve got something to say and want it to land with power and punchlines, Jamil’s the one to help you say it.

It's housed in the extensively renovated historic Victoria Theater, which was transformed through a community-led process to support the cultural life of the neighborhood and showcase Saint Paul's vibrant arts community.

825 Arts is located at 825 University Avenue W, St. Paul, MN 55104—right across the street from the Metro Green Line’s Victoria Street Station.
If you're driving, you’ll usually find street parking on the surrounding residential blocks. There’s also a parking lot at the corner of N Avon Street and University Avenue West.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and has several all-gender bathrooms.
