Laugh and Learn
Discover your wild, creative self at Good Camel Comedy Theater Academy—the heart of improv for everyone. Our classes are joyful, anti-racist, and unapologetically real, centering Black voices and all communities ready to speak truth to power (and laugh doing it). Whether you’re a total first-timer or an improv addict, you’ll find a space bursting with community, laughter, honest feedback, and playful experimentation.
Every session is crafted by experienced, caring teachers who believe in authenticity over perfection. Scholarships and “Sponsor a Seat” keeps classes accessible—because everyone deserves a seat at the funny table.
Here, comedy is about jokes, and it’s about building community, celebrating voices often left out, and using humor to spark real change. Bring your whole self. Leave a little lighter, a lot braver, and a member of our creative family. We hope.

Why a BIPOC-Only Space?
This class exists to reduce barriers, not create them. It offers a space where BIPOC students can take creative risks without carrying the extra weight that often shows up in mixed-race improv rooms.
The goal is skill-building, confidence, and joy, in that order.

MONDAY 7–9 PM STUDIO COURSE
Improv Studio for the Chronically Curious and Mildly Nervous
Mondays, February 16, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Suggested: $275.00
This 8-week beginner improv class is a low-pressure entry point into the world of improv. No experience is necessary. The class is designed for the curious, the nervous, and anyone looking for a supportive space to slow down, play, and try something new.
Through guided exercises and group scenes, students explore the basics at their own pace. Alexis Camille creates a warm, welcoming environment where mistakes are celebrated and confidence grows naturally. The focus is on showing up, trying new things, and discovering that you already have everything you need to improv.
Rather than emphasizing speed or constant performance, this class treats improv as a creative practice. Students build confidence in how they listen, respond, and create scenes, with time for reflection, repetition, and meaningful growth. This is thoughtful play rooted in joy, care, and curiosity.
Instructor
Alexis Camille is a Marine Corps veteran turned international improv actor and director based in the Twin Cities. They have performed with Blackout Improv, Good Camel Comedy, Danger Boat Productions, and Soap-Prov, and were a longtime performer and creator at HUGE Improv Theater. Alexis currently volunteers as a wellness improv facilitator at Queermunity MN.
Their work centers whole-identity representation and uses improv as a tool for healing, clarity, and self-trust. Alexis is committed to helping people reclaim their right to joy through grounded, intentional play.
